Employees come together to donate more than $325,000 to the United Way
In 2021 our team members came together to unite around an important cause - impacting the communities where we work and live.
Across Apogee, more than $325,000 was raised to support local United Way chapters. The businesses found creative ways to engage employees through various events ranging from pumpkin decorating to Hot Wheels races, Silent Auctions and more.
Architectural Glass (Viracon) had a standout year – achieving a record for employee giving and raising over $106,000. The team has donated well over a million dollars over several years and is regarded by the community as a key contributor to the Steele County United Way.
Architectural Services (Harmon) got creative with several unique activities planned to engage employees and drive donations. The “Pay to Pie” event was a success, raising nearly $10,000 alone and resulting in 19 leaders being pied in the face. The Orlando manufacturing plant organized its annual Hot Wheels race, and the Mesquite manufacturing team hosted both a raffle and luncheon for its OU challenge. Finally, Cincinnati manufacturing collected over 40 pounds of donations for Hope House.
Collectively, our teams across Apogee gave generously in a difficult year. The money raised for United Way chapters in our communities will support a wide range of services to help people in need. With your generous support, our neighbors in need have access to a place to call home, healthy food, high-quality education, and essential job skills. Thank you to our many partners across the businesses for taking the lead to drive campaign results and to the many of you who contributed. You should be proud of the way you stepped forward to make a difference.
